The widespread persecution of Christians in Orissa, Inda, that began in August 2008 got a fair amount of press. So you may have heard about it. What you often don’t hear about are the isolated cases that continue to occur across India. One such incident happened to a Crown staff member overseen by Richard Samuel.
Mr. M.S., as we will call him, works among the Jatav people group in a certain district. He was attacked on May 7 by about 60 people. His attackers had large sticks with which they beat him. They threatened to burn him by pouring gasoline on him. The attack went on for about 40 minutes. Mr. M.S. received beatings on his upper and lower left arm, left leg, ribs in both sides, jaw, head, and around his eyes and ears. His lower left arm was fractured, and one of his ear drums was torn. Pray for his complete healing and for the legal proceedings concerning the incident. Pray that this ministry may continue and that multitudes may come to Christ in these regions. Most of all, as Jesus commanded, please pray for those who persecuted Mr. M.S.
