In the Potter’s Hand

by Kim Turkington on November 2nd

By Ghuna Kumar

“Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand,…” (Jeremiah 18:6)

The Lord blessed me as I pondered over the Potter and the clay. Let me share with you what the Lord meant when He spoke the above-mentioned words to Jeremiah almost 2600 years ago. More »

Get Moving!

by Kim Turkington on October 5th

“…go forward.” (Ex 14:15b)

Quite recently I was placed in a situation where I felt stranded, and I was not able to carry on my responsibilities. Today’s study helped me to get up and move on rather than be stopped. This I share because some of you may be going through similar situations where you feel defeated in your spirit, and so you have gotten stuck. More »

By Faith Abraham Obeyed

by Kim Turkington on July 19th

From Ghuna Kumar

This week I have been thinking much on the subject of WAITING.  Waiting is one of the most difficult things in some of our lives.   We all want things to happen instantly. God promised Abraham and Sarah a son.  But they had to wait twenty-five years for the fulfillment of the promise.  It is almost one third of the life lived these days. But true faith is able to wait for the fulfillment of God’s purpose in God’s time. More »

Good News Helps; Bad News Still Hurts

by Kim Turkington on January 24th

The good news is that food prices in India aren’t going up as fast as they were a few weeks ago.

The bad news is prices of vegetables have skyrocketed in the past year, putting pressure on those living on the edge of survival and on those working to help them - including Fishhook’s ministry partners.

Even though news reports say food inflation is easing because the published weekly rate fell from over 18% to 15.5 $, the reality is that prices of many basic foods are dramatically higher then they were just a few months ago. More »

Largest VBS in India

by Kim Turkington on July 2nd
Ghuna at VBSGhuna Kumar’s Living Hope campus was the site of a 5-day VBS for 4,635 children in early May.   Indian-style VBS is definitely different than the American version.  Most of the children stayed on campus the entire 5 days.  The 12 leaders and 150 teachers worked extremely hard to care for and teach so many, but the harvest was plentiful.  Ghuna reports that hundreds of teenagers gave their lives to the Lord “with tears on their cheeks.”  Praise God for the powerful working of His Spirit to make this a blessed time of commitment and celebration.  Please continue to pray for the children who gave their hearts to Jesus as they are discipled by the Living Hope Bible College students over the coming months.  Pray they would grow in their love and devotion to the Lord Jesus.
