Lydia Home for Children
The Lydia Home is home to 11 orphans, 7 of whom are HIV positive.
The Need
The plight of orphans in India is normally quite dire. Thousands of kids live on the streets, and many are exploited through bonded labor or prostitution. There are a growing number of orphanages, but not nearly enough to care for all who need it. And HIV children are not likely candidates for most orphanages.
A Picture of Joy
Anyone who has visited the Lydia Home will attest to the joy and security that these children feel. They have been saved from a destitute and potentially dangerous life by the rescuing love of the Lord Jesus. As they are cared for, educated and loved, their faces shine with the happiness that every child needs. And they are a fun-loving bunch. The Lydia Home is alive with singing, laughter and joy!
