Nursing School
The Jaya Institute of Paramedical Science trains downtrodden women as nurses who are dedicated to improving health in rural areas of India.
This school in south India is dedicated to educating young women as nurses to help address the health problems in villages with little or no access to medical care. The students who are admitted to the nursing school would otherwise be denied an education because of poverty and / or societal barriers.
So the school is meeting two needs:
1. Destitute and lower caste women receive a quality education that frees them from the trap of unemployment or the life of an unskilled construction or agricultural worker.
2. Villages without access to medical care will have home health nurses working to serve their needs..
