Partnering with India’s Gospel Servants

Ghuna Kumar

"Preach the Gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, set free those who are downtrodden." (Luke 4:18)

Gospel Friends 2008

This video gives an update of several Gospel Friends ministries in India.

In a word, the heart of Ghuna Kumar’s work is evangelism. Whether he is talking with the van driver or preaching in a village where there is no church, Ghuna’s number one priority is sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

A close number two on Ghuna’s list is training and equipping other believers to be witnesses for Christ. His vision is that everyone whom Gospel Friends helps – from the orphans growing up at the Mt. Zion campus to the young women in the sewing training program – will become salt and light for Jesus.

Let us share with you a little of Ghuna and his work.

More Lessons from Caleb

by Kim Turkington on July 23rd

“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “ We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” Numbers 13:30

It was quite amazing to know that one of my friends, namely Pastor Mike Motley, also preached on the 11th of this month on the very same text I preached in India.  He was kind enough to send me the outline of his preaching on Caleb.  I was quite blessed by reading it.  So with his permission I am forwarding his outline on Caleb based on Joshua 14.  I am sure you will be blessed also.

1. God keeps His promises.  verses 9,10 - The passage of time does not take away from what God has promised.
2. God can use us regardless of our age.  More »

UPDATES FROM THE FIELD

by Kim Turkington on May 26th

Ghuna Kumar, his wife Jeya, and their family are joyfully looking forward to the wedding of their daughter, Persis.  On May 28 Persis and Stephen will be married at St. George’s Cathedral in Chennai.

It's VBS Time in India!

by Kim Turkington on April 27th

Fishhook partner Gospel Friends is gearing up for VBS on the Mt. Zion campus May 1-5.  Over 4,000 children and youth from at least 150 villages are expected to attend the 5-day 24/7 VBS!

Hundreds of teenagers gave their lives to the Lord Jesus at last year’s VBS.  These young people were mentored by Gospel Friends Bible College students who visited the kids in their villages during the following months.  This year we are hoping and praying for an even greater harvest.

Would you consider helping with this huge effort to reach Indian children with the love of Jesus?  As you can well imagine, it is a monumental undertaking to transport, teach, feed and care for so many children for five days.  The cost last year was about $15,000.

You can help us reach these children and youth with the Gospel!
