We Believe
There is one God, self-existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things in heaven and on earth.
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He laid aside His glory to be born of a Virgin, that he might give His life as the atonement for our sins. He was resurrected from the dead and is now at the right hand of the Father from whence He shall judge all men.
The Holy Spirit, as the third person of the Trinity, is now in the world bearing witness to Christ, regenerating sinners who will believe and bringing them by His presence into fellowship with God.
The Old and New Testaments, inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, are of infallible authority for faith and practice and are the only written witness of God's supreme revelation in Jesus Christ.
Every man is born with a sinful nature that involves both physical death and spiritual death, making it impossible for us to attain right standing with God by any merit of our own.
Salvation is offered to all men through the grace of God alone. It is appropriated solely by faith. This is the birth of a new life wrought by the Holy Spirit in the believing heart.
The church is the body of Christ on earth, a redeemed fellowship of believers, crossing denominational, cultural, national and racial lines.
The Lordship of Christ should prevail in the life of every believer, with separation from sin unto holiness, an attitude of redemptive love toward all men and a daily walk with Christ, wrought through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There will be a bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, with everlasting blessedness for the righteous and eternal separation from God for the unbelieving.
The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ may take place at any moment, ending the day of grace and ushering in the culmination of His kingdom.
Lausanne Covenant
The International Congress on World Evangelization was held in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1974. The gathering was called by a committee headed by Rev. Billy Graham and drew more than 2,300 evangelical leaders, from 150 countries. The gathering produced The Lausanne Covenant, a declaration that is "intended to define the necessity, responsibilities, and goals of spreading the Gospel." Since 1974, the Lausanne Covenant has challenged Christians to work together to make Jesus Christ known throughout the world. Fishhook International and hundreds of other organizations use The Lausanne Covenant as their ministry Statement of Faith.
